LS 103 Nutrition and Health

Nutrition and Health fulfills one Natural Science General Education requirement as the Life Science requirement. This course explores nutritional concepts and principles as a basis for dietary choices and the consequences of personal food choices. Covers sources and primary functions of nutrition, basic digestive pathways, metabolism, and the effects of nutritional deficiencies. Compares the world’s concept of nutrition and the principles of the Word of Wisdom, scientific examination of controversial topics. Emphasizes gaining insight into personal responsibility for nutrition, health and wellness.
