MCO 195 Intro to Medical Coding

An introduction to subjects that will form the base for medical coding classes which are to follow. Topics include: medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. Medical Coding books will be introduced, including: CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS. Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, modifiers, coding guidelines, evaluation and management codes, etc., will be introduced and practiced, by analyzing diagnoses and procedures common in medical clinics.
