BA 270 Advanced Business Analysis

Students will demonstrate knowledge and the use of tools and skills of Business Analysis found in the BABOK. Students will demonstrate the ability to work as individuals as well as members of a team in this casestudy application course to resolve practical business problems. Students will demonstrate skills in: 1) learning how to assess the overall goals and objectives of the business and how systems, processes, and personnel are aligned to meet those goals, 2) asking the right questions and understanding the true needs of the business, 3) learning how to identify key stakeholders and appropriately engage them in elicitation and requirements analysis activities, 4) documenting and managing requirements to ensure traceability of requirements to core business objectives and maintaining documentation for re-use, and 5) analyzing potential solutions and making appropriate recommendations to decision makers. This course will prepare students to take the industry exam for the Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA) from the International Institute of Business Analysis.
