PLS 215 Bankruptcy Law

Introduces basic issues in bankruptcy law, including economic, ethical, and policy considerations as they apply to the competing interests of creditors and debtors. Introduces various non-bankruptcy options and Bankruptcy Acts, with particular attention to the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act ("BAPCPA") of 2005. Examines filing for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 and petitioning under Chapters 7, 11, and 13.
