MCO 204 Body Systems & Coding 4

This course is designed to allow students to apply what they have learned in their certificate program by reviewing all body systems and participating in analyzing and assigning appropriate codes. Medical Coding of unidentified patient charts and operative reports using CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and coding guidelines, will be assigned for practice to increase students’ speed and accuracy. Practice exams that simulate the national certification exam will be given to help the students prepare for the CPC certification exam.  (The national exams are administered by outside certification groups.)

Prior to taking MCO 204, the student must complete at least 12 credits of the certificate courses.
