PLS 110 Legal Research/Writing I

This course provides an introduction to the American government and court structure as well as the various laws created by each branch and how they work together. It will provide a broad practical approach to the use of legal publications and the law library via online legal research tools such as Lexis and/or Westlaw. Students will distinguish primary, secondary, mandatory, persuasive, substantive, and procedural laws in drafting basic legal documents including an interoffice memorandum of law with proper citations.
