Introduces communication and professionalism for medical assistants in ambulatory patient care, including preparing and caring for patients during specialty exams. Emphasizes asepsis, sterilization of equipment, care of surgical instruments, taking and recording vital signs, urinalysis, basic pharmacology and administration of medications, including injections.
